With all the work we do at Action Recovery Group helping helping people with drug and alcohol rehab, the focus of course is on highly addictive substances like cocaine, heroin, opiates, meth, alcohol and the like. I see a lot of people make the mistake of thinking another addictive substance—marijuana—is no big deal, nothing to worry about.
Well, I found a recent article on marijuana research to be pretty interesting. It actually links marijuana use to an increase in schizophrenia and other mental illnesses. Their really starting to “git it” in Europe, but here in the U.S. we’re actually going the other direction! The article is a little long, but it’s got some information could just save you or someone you care about from the lousy consequences of brain problems.
